Sweet
Sweet (also referred to as The Sweet) were a British rock band that rose to worldwide fame in the 1970s as one of the most prominent glam rock acts, with the classic line-up of lead vocalist Brian Connolly, bass player Steve Priest, guitarist Andy Scott, and drummer Mick Tucker. Sweet was formed in 1968 and achieved their first hit “Funny Funny” in 1971 after teaming up with songwriters Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman and record producer Phil Wainman. During 1971 and 1972, their musical style followed a marked progression from the Archies-like bubblegum style of “Funny Funny” to a Who-influenced hard rock style supplemented by a striking use of high-pitched backing vocals. The band achieved notable success in the UK charts, with thirteen Top 20 hits during the 1970s alone, with “Block Buster!” (1973) topping the chart, followed by three consecutive number two hits in “Hell Raiser” (1973), “The Ballroom Blitz” (1973) and “Teenage Rampage” (1974).
Blockbuster
You better beware, you better take care
You better watch out if you’ve got long black hair
He’ll come from behind, you go out of your mind
You’d better not go, you’d never know what you’ll find
Aah, aah
You look in his eyes, don’t be surprised
If you don’t know what’s going on behind his disguise
Nobody knows where Buster goes
He’ll steal your woman out from under your nose
Does anyone know the way, did we hear someone say
We just haven’t got a clue what to do
Does anyone know the way, there’s got to be a way
To Block Buster!
The cops are out, they’re running about
Don’t know if they’ll ever be able to Block Buster out
He’s gotta be cought, he’s gotta be taught
‘Cos he’s more evil than anyone here ever thought
Does anyone know the way did we hear someone say
